What is Microblading ?Phibrows is a semi-permanent eyebrow technique with hyper-realistic results. The shape of eyebrows is calculated according to the morphology of the face and the golden mean, the number φ (1,618). By adding carefully placed hairstrokes the brows can be thickened out, the shape changed to enhance the face and frame the eyes. The results looks so natural. Microblading, also known as 3D eyebrows, feather touch brows, eyebrow embroidery or micro-stroke eyebrow tattoo is a fairly new semi-permanent procedure designed to cosmetically enhance the natural shape of the eyebrows using implantation of safe pigments into the epidermis layer of the skin with a fine blade, mimicking the eyebrows natural hair. The results are crisp, fine and realistic looking. The treatment can last up to 1-2 years depending on the skin type and is a two part procedure - initial consultation/procedure and touch-up
-
Can Microblading be done for anyone?Apart from age restriction (18 Y.O), microblading sometimes cannot be performed due to medical reasons: • Diabetes • Hepatitis • Seborrheic dermatitis • If taking drugs for blood dissolution • Over broken capillaries, moles, keloids • Pregnancy/nursing mothers • Haemophilia • Auto immune disease (e.g HIV) This list is not exclusive, and does not cover all medical conditions. During consultation every practitioner should cover all medical conditions as well as the risks associated. Please note that in some cases client may be required to obtain a medical consent from their doctor in order to proceed with the treatment.
-
Will it hurt?During first pass the client will feel discomfort, but usually no one reports an extremely painful experience. People compare it to plucking/treading/waxing. If compared to body tattoo, microblading is nowhere near as painful. Everyone has a different threshold of pain. Clients often find the tweezing during the eyebrow tidy up more painful than the actual treatment. The majority of clients say it was not as bad as they were expecting. With the client’s permission, topical anaesthetic is used to numb the area, minimising discomfort.
-
How long does the colour last?Microblading effect usually lasts between 1-2 years. The pigment is attached to skin cells of the skin layer, and in theory should last as long as the skin regeneration cycle. However, various factors influence colour durability, for example, skin type, lifestyle, exposure to the sun, facial treatments that regenerate skin etc.

How to take care of eyebrows after treatment?I will provide you with verbal and written aftercare instructions, specifically chosen for your skin type. It can affect your lifestyle for next 7 days if you are extensively exercising, as activities that can cause sweat have to be avoided. Also, bathing/swimming in public waters, exposure to dusty environments and extreme exposure to the sun etc can cause irritation to the brows after treatment. Make up on your brows is not allowed for the next 14 days.
-
What if I don’t like it?Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing colour and shape to some extent. Colours will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will often soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and remember it takes time to adjust to a new look!
-
How will you decide on the shape?I use a unique compass to do the bespoke design of the eyebrow shape. I fully draw the shape outline before commencing microblading treatment. The shape will compliment the natural eyebrow shape, and is made in accordance with the natural eyebrow shape, but with a more polished look. To ensure ultimate symmetry we use a mobile application and take digital pictures.
-
Is this treatment single procedure? After the initial procedure, one retouch procedure is recommended, to fill in any gaps that might have developed or make the look more defined. It is usually performed in 6 weeks after first treatment and included in the price of the first treatment, but some practitioners might charge extra money for retouch depending on what change you might needed during the procedure.
-
Do I need a patch test?Yes, all clients need a patch test at least 24 hours before the procedure. This can be posted out to you, if you live a long distance away.
-
How long is the recovery or healing time? You do not have to hide from the world until you are healed. Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in colour, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful colour in two to three weeks.
-
When will I see the final results?A noticeable difference will be readily apparent immediately following the microblading procedure. You will see your final results after the healing process is fully completed, usually in two to three weeks. Your brows may be a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit white. This is all very normal. They will be considerably darker for the first week, before they begin to fade out to a softer colour.
-
Will my Microbladed Eyebrows look fake?NO! Semi-Permanent makeup is done using a cosmetic tattooing process and our eyebrow pigmentation unique artistry guarantees soft, natural looking eyebrows. When I implant the semi-permanent makeup pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than even topically applied cosmetics.
-
Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This will depend on the client. If a person is taking blood thinners on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners, then bruising could occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days. The colour is much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.
-
Why do I need a top up? And is it necessary?A touch up session after 6 weeks is really necessary and cannot be skip as every individual heals differently and the outcome will vary. Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 6 weeks after initial microblading session as pigment colour has not fully settled into the skin, and most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine and finalise your brows to ensure they looks perfect and retain the colour for as long as possible. Very occasionally a third touch up is required for certain clients where pigment does not take as well to the skin or other lifestyle factors have affected the healing process and results.
